About

Tom lives in NorthWest Montana,
in a small village called Eureka.

It all began in 1991, the year my first son entered the world—a moment that ignited a fire in me to craft something enduring for him. Inspired by a cherished family heirloom, my grandfather had forged a knife for my father to carry into the chaos of World War II. That blade, remarkably, survives to this day, sharp and steadfast. I wanted to echo that legacy.

For my boy, I shaped his first knife from a humble planer blade and polished elk antler. It’s endured the years, ready for whatever adventures lie ahead.

Reflecting on the journey, it’s been a forge of its own: scarred by mishaps, tempered by relentless determination, and marked by moments that tested every ounce of resolve.

In 1993, fate connected me with a wise soul in Maine through the early whispers of the internet. He unraveled every knot I threw his way, evolving from guide to lifelong ally. Today, I extend that same torch to anyone stepping into this craft—ask, and I’ll light the path.

Now, my repertoire boasts 11 distinct designs, each born from a client’s dream. As a custom artisan, I rarely stockpile finished pieces; instead, I thrive on transforming visions into tangible reality, one blade at a time.

My knives harness the resilient CPM 154 stainless for blades that defy time. Handles? I favor the unyielding grip of Micarta, Ultrex, and kindred composites—built to outlast the ages, without the fragility of wood or antler that can degrade over time.

Every sheath is a work of quiet artistry: crafted from robust 6-7 ounce vegetable-tanned leather, dyed deep black, stitched by hand with waxed thread for eternity. Personalize it with a name or initials on the front, sealed by my signature Cougar emblem on the back.

With every knife and sheath comes my unwavering promise: a lifetime of reliability, backed by complimentary sharpening for as long as you wield it.

Curious? Eager for guidance? Reach out—I’m here, ready to sharpen your story.
